Rane & Serato on the new SIXTY-EIGHT

If you don’t know what this is or just don’t care… then maybe find something else to read.
Rane and Serato have come together to produce a one of a kind mixer.  The Sixty Eight…. This would have to be the bad boy of mixers at this present time.  If you a DJ/Producer you’ve most probably just jizzed yourself.  To get a better look go here.  Specs here.  Although they were released earlier in the year, they have finally made there way here to New Zealand (see below for more deets).

The Fingerist – iphone & apps meet instrument

Ukelele’s were always cool, I could never play one very well, my fingers were clumsy.   This instrument looks cool, from Evenno they have created a small Ukelele type instrument.  Put your iphone/ipod in to it and your away.  If you want a bigger sound it will plug into an amplifier.  It merges your iphone and apps into one instrument, how cool.  Prices aren’t available at the time of writing this.  Check out there site here.

April 12th saw the launch of Microsoft’s Kin, a new series of touchscreen mobile smartphones focused on social networking, photography and the needs of Generation Y, its target audience.
Both versions of the phone are demonstrated here immediately after the release event: a square 4 GB version and a rectangular 8 GB model. In a lot of ways, it’s the spiritual (and social) successor to the T-Mobile Sidekick, whose parent company was bought by Microsoft in 2008.
